We are often puzzled by Proverbs, wondering not only how to understand them, but also how to apply them. In this lab, John Piper establishes the foundation for approaching all proverbs.

Some questions to ask as you read and study Proverbs 26:7–9:

  1. Outside of the Bible, where do most people you know go in order to find wisdom? Why might they look there?
  2. Read Proverbs 26:7–9. How do fools utilize wisdom? List what happens when they engage with a proverb.
  3. Watch the lab. How might these verses affect how you engage with unbelievers who openly scoff at truth?
